Broken Baby Doll : I have this strange fascination with baby dolls. Even without dramatic lighting and photoshop effects, baby dolls can be downright creepy. Must be that vacant stare that pulls me in.

Truth be told, the "blue" hue in the photographs were not manipulated in photoshop. I used an LED flashlight and used a custom white balance for the effect. This unique vintage baby doll really was a rare find considering my boyfriend dredged it out of the New River in the mountains of NC.

Vintage Lace Maternity

This creepy babydoll has the same angle and pose as a lot of the cherubs you see decorating cathedrals. With one minor exception - it's ten times creepier (and therefore, ten times cooler).

My cousin Shaun seems really relaxed for a bride doesn't she? This photo was taken in Durham Park at Appalachian State University. Definitely one of the most beautiful spots on campus, but Shauna can hold her own!

Sweet (Less saturation)

A common theme for any pending wedding is a sense of hope, and a wonder of the unknown. What will the future hold? I like this photograph in particular since it has a clear defining line between light and dark, future and past. The bride's head is turned just so that she seems to be looking toward the future, but can turn her head and peek into the past if she chooses.

I think this turned out to be one of the most intriguing bridal portraits.

Starburst Thistle ::

A friend of mine gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers that was full of beautiful dried thistle. This macro shot has slight color processing, mostly to add the purple - which was already present, and a slight variation on the hue to bring out the green. I think it's pretty sharp!
